From order to accession to result
Orders move through six stages, from pending collection to completed, on a worklist with batch actions. Specimens get Code 39 barcode labels in four formats, aliquots stay linked to the parent, and the specimen timeline shows the full chain of custody. Transport orders track pickups.
Bidirectional analyzers and auto-validation
Connect analyzers over HL7 v2 or ASTM, with orders sent out and results returned, and a health score for each interface. Auto-validation rules cover ranges, critical values, delta checks, ratios and calculated results such as eGFR, LDL and anion gap. Critical values need documented read-back and escalate on a timeline.
Westgard, EQA and accreditation
Six Westgard rules (1-2s, 1-3s, 2-2s, R-4s, 4-1s and 10x) on Levey-Jennings charts, with calibration and proficiency testing. Enrol in EQA schemes such as CAP, RIQAS, Bio-Rad or NEQAS, run accreditation checklists for CAP, CLIA and ISO 15189, and keep SOPs with read-and-acknowledge training.
Micro, histo, send-outs and margins
Microbiology from culture to susceptibility, with a cumulative antibiogram. Histopathology with synoptic reports for breast, colorectal, prostate, lung and melanoma, and AJCC TNM staging. Send-outs to reference labs such as Health360, per-test cost and margin, and patient result links that need no login.
